18U, 16U and 14U Girls Open Results from the USAV Beach NAtional Championships

Starting July 16th and ending on the 21st, USA Volleyball (USAV) held their juniors beach national championship tournament in Virginia Beach, VA. This article will be covering the results from the girls 18U, 16U and 14U open divisions.

18U

In the gold medal match of the 18U open division, Breeze Johnson (Class of 2028) and UNA signee Emma White (Class of 2025) beat Stetson commit Shaunna Merrill (class of 2026) and FAU signee Allison Spittal (class of 2025) in straight sets with set scores of 21-15 and 21-17. Not only did Johnson and White win gold but they did it without dropping a set in the entire tournament.

The 18U open division third place match was a battle between UNF commits Maisie Allen (class of 2026) and Macey Moore (class of 2026) and EKU signee’s Lily Kerbl (class of 2025) and Carlyn McAllister (class of 2025). Allen and Moore came out on top claiming third place with a two set win over Kerbl and McAllister with set scores of 21-19 and 21-14.

16U

In the final match of the 16U open division, Breeze Johnson and Elle Sossong (class of 2028) beat Taylie Hansen (class of 2028) and Brooklyn Rosales (class of 2028) in a tight third set match to win first place. The set scores of that final match were 17-21, 21-12, and 20-18.

The third place match was a battle between Sadie Stafford (class of 2028) and Danica Waterman (class of 2028) and Claire Hanson (class of 2027) and FAU commit Meadow Rosales (class of 2027). Stafford and Waterman won the third place match with set scores of 12-21, 21-15 and 15-13.

14U

In the gold match of the 14U open division, Charli Lilley (class of 2030) and Kalenna Thiele (class of 2030) beat Avery Finney (class of 2029) and Aubrey Kane (class of 2029) in straight sets to win first place. Set scores for the final match were 23-21 and 21-15.

In the third place match, Salma Abdelrazak (class of 2029) and Katrina Kottoor (class of 2029) beat Lily McAfee (class of 2030) and Olivia Thies (class of 2030) in straight sets with set scores of 21-10 and 21-13.
