FIU hires Lauren Deturk as the new head coach. “I’m incredibly honored to be named the head beach volleyball coach at FIU,” exclaimed DeTurk. “From the moment I stepped on campus, I felt a connection, not just to the university, but to Miami as a place I could truly call home. I want to thank Scott, Julie, and the entire hiring committee for believing in me and entrusting me with this program.”
Shannon Stone has been named the assistant coach for Coastal Beach. Stone joins Coastal after two successful seasons at the University of Tampa, where she helped guide the Spartans to back-to-back AVCA Small College National Championships and capture the program’s first-ever Sunshine State Conference Tournament title.
University of San Fransisco (USF) hires Emily Cook as the new head beach volleyball coach. “We are excited to announce the promotion of Emily to Head Beach Volleyball Coach,” Deputy Athletics Director, Administration and Facilities/SWA Stephanie Shrieve-Hawkins said. “She has proven to be an outstanding leader and dedicated advocate for the beach student-athletes for the past four years and will have complete focus toward optimizing their potential and increasing team success.”
Boise State announced their new assistant coach in McKayla Hazard on Aug. 21st as they elevated Alex Venardos to the head coaching position on Sep 17th. “McKayla is somebody that has been on my radar for years,” Venardos said. “Her ability to empathize, connect, and empower the players she works with was noticeable the first time we crossed paths. She cares deeply about her players as people and consistently seeks to positively shape their belief in themselves. These are attributes that fit right in with how our program operates.”
