Zoey Henson and Sarah Wood Win U21 FIVB Beach World Championship Trials

From June 17th to June 19th, 32 teams competed in the U21 FIVB Beach World championship trials in Hermosa, CA. Current USC player Zoey Henson (rising junior) and USC commit Sarah Wood (class of 2026) excelled in their partnership as they did not drop a set in tournament play and claimed first place with a win over fellow USC signee Kyra Zaengle (class of 2025) and current Stanford player Avery Jackson (rising sophomore) with set scores of 21-14 and 21-16 in the final match of the tournament.

Before meeting Zaengle and Jackson in the final, Wood and Henson had notable wins in tournament play against teams including FSU commits Addison Junk and Avery Junk, UCLA players Alexa Fernandez and Sally Perez, and Cal rising sophomore Giselle Lau and USC commit Quincy Stephens.

On the other side of the bracket, Zangle and Jackson had notable wins in tournament play against teams including Texas Commit Ella Grimes and LSU commit Kenzey McGatlin, Stanford players Charlotta Bell and Elena Fisher, and Texas Commit Lilly Dee Davis and FSU player Myriah Massey.

With the first-place finish, Wood and Henson will represent the U.S in the NORCECA U21 qualifier starting July 3rd in the Dominican Republic. They will also represent the U.S in the U21 World Championship in Puebla Mexico starting on October 15th.
